Leaving home is usually the most difficult and time consuming part of one of these trips...
I picked up the rental car on the evening of July 26, 2008. I expected to get most of it packed and ready to go that night. Due to intense rain storms, that didn't happen.
Because of the length of this trip, I worried if I had everything I wanted to bring. I then began to worry about taking too much so I downsized a bit.
I planned to leave on the afternoon of July 27, 2008, thinking I'd get to Jamestown, NY at night but with enough time for reasonable sleep. That didn't work out. Packing took much longer than expected. I finally left my home around 8pm. I arrived in Jamestown, NY very late....
